Elecosoft will provide UTP with a number of Powerproject licenses for educational use by the students attending courses of project, programme and construction management and civil engineering.
The agreement also provides the users of UTP (staff and students) the benefit of Powerproject technical support through local partner Metacontrol Ingenieros.
UTP students will learn Powerproject and Powerproject BIM within the Building Information Modelling course and will practice how to plan and control a construction project using sophisticated functions in Powerproject such as Line of Balance within the Project Controls course.
The Technological University of Peru is a decentralised university with over 35 courses including Engineering, Management and Business and Architecture. It has headquarters in the largest cities of Peru, at Lima, Chiclayo and Arequipa; and 94% of their graduated students get a job within two months.
Peru is one of the first Latin American countries opting for Powerproject software as a tool to plan and control construction projects.
“UTP is always seeking the latest on technology for our students and we see Powerproject software as a powerful tool that has been made specifically for the construction sector. We believe our next graduates will benefit from it.”
Javier Orccosupa, Director of Civil Engineering Programme
